16th Annual FESTA ITALIANA
A Taste of Italy, right in the heart of Historic Ybor City... Festa Italiana celebrates its 16th Annual
Event on April 7th - join us in Ybor City for a time to remember!
The festivities kick-off with Wines of Italy on Thursday, April 4th - Join Festa Italiana for a unique tasting experience, featuring over seventy wines from different regions of Italy and Italian Antipasti and Desserts! The Italian Club of Tampa hosts this special evening and the event serves to benefit the Italian Club Restoration Fund.
The 4th Annual Krewe of Italia Bocce Ball Tournament will be held on Friday, April 5th, 2013, starting at 6:30 pm with heck-in. Entry fee is $100.00 for a team of four.
Continuing on Saturday, April 6th, Festa Italiana hosts a free day of festivities for the entire family to enjoy, including the nnual Bocce Ball Invitational Tournament in Centennial Park, an assortment of Italian food, the Italian Idol Competition and the Homemade Vino Competition starting at 4:00 pm! The Saturday Fresh Market will also be in full-swing! Think talian and think food, entertainment and music for all to enjoy!
Festa Italiana's 16th Annual Event takes place on Sunday, April 7th when Centennial Park and Historic Ybor City host a true taste of Italy! Over thirty Tampa Bay area restaurants and caterers present flavorful specialties! Enjoy cooking demonstrations, children's activities, live entertainment with Joey Dee and the Starliters, Carme Pitrello, Lisa Casalino, Michael Castaldo, Gene Ferrari, Bella Danza and more!
ABOUT FESTA
Festa Italiana started in the spring of 1997 and is an annual multi-day event that benefits The Italian Club of Tampa (L'Unione Italiana) Restoration Fund. What started as just a one day celebration now spans over the course of four days and concludes with the main Festa Italiana event on the final day. Event attendees will experience the finest in live entertainment, family activities, wine and the Tampa Bay area's restaurants and cuisine.
Thursday: Festa Italiana kicks off with Wines of Italy, a unique tasting experience where guests will sample over 70 wines from Italy while enjoying Italian antipasti and desserts. The silent auction offers an opportunity to win fabulous prizes and gift packages.
Friday: Celebrate fabulous Italian cinema with Festa Italiana at Cinema Italiano where guests will experience award winning films and documentaries while enjoying espresso and dolci.
Saturday: Spend a day with your entire family and enjoy such entertaining activities as the annual Bocce Ball Invitational Tournament, the Homemade Vino Competition, the Italian Idol singing competition and shopping the Ybor Saturday Fresh Market.
Sunday: Festa Italiana on Sunday is the pinnacle of the annual Festa Italiana celebration that is a gathering of authentic tastes, sights and sounds straight from Italy. Attendees will enjoy the finest cuisines from over thirty of the Tampa Bay area's top restaurants and caterers. The Main Stage will offer some of the world's greatest entertainers, singers and dancers. Festa Italiana kicks off with Sunday Mass Procession followed by food, entertainment, cooking competitions and classes, grape stomping along with a children's area and a cultural and genealogy area.
ABOUT THE ITALIAN CLUB OF TAMPA (L'UNIONE ITALIANA)
The Italian Club of Tampa (L'Unione Italiana) was founded in 1894 by a small visionary group who realized that by uniting together, the Italian Community of Tampa could overcome many of the social and economic challenges that confronted those "turn-of-the-century" immigrants from Italy.
The mission of The Italian Club of Tampa is to preserve and honor the culture, traditions and heritage of the Italian Community and maintain the historical facility as a functioning memorial to the working class immigrants.
As the oldest historical leader and the voice of the Italian community, The Italian Club of Tampa operates in an environment characterized by the highest ethical standards and provides open and honest communication with the members and the community.
