2013 NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship
"The MAAC, Fairfield University and the Webster Bank Arena look forward to hosting a successful NCAA event in Bridgeport," Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Commissioner Rich Ensor said. "Fans from the area and throughout the country will have an opportunity to watch quality women's college basketball as four teams vie to play in the 2013 NCAA Women's Final Four in New Orleans."
The regional semifinals on Saturday, March 30 will tip-off at 12:00 p.m. and approximately 2:30 p.m. Monday's regional final is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
"We are excited to host the 2013 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Regional at our home court, the Webster Bank Arena," Gene Doris, Director of Athletics at Fairfield University. "Fairfield University looks forward to again working with the MAAC and the Arena to bring March Madness to the region."
Fairfield and the Webster Bank Arena has previously hosted the Bridgeport Regional of the 2006 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship in addition to the first- and second-round games of the 2004 and 2012 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship, the East Regional of the 2009, 2011 and 2012 NCAA Division I Ice Hockey Championship, the 2011 Spark Energy MAAC Basketball Championships and the 2007 Bank of America MAAC Basketball Championships.
