2013 Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival
This year the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival kicks off with a week of activities at the Liberty Place rotunda. With colorful displays and interactive demonstrations, this is a week for anyone to enjoy. Come out during lunch to try a new activity.
A project of the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia, the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival is an annual celebration not only of spring and beautiful blossoms, but of Japanese culture as well. Each year, over the course of a few weeks, a wide variety of events are planned. From demonstrations of martial arts and ikebana flower arranging to library story hours to live musical and dance performances, the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival presents traditional and contemporary Japanese culture to Philadelphia and its visitors.
Where is the Festival?
Festival events are held all over Philadelphia and its suburbs. Our main day of celebration, Sakura Sunday is held at the Horticulture Center in Fairmount Park. In 2013, festival events will be hosted in Center City, Fairmount Park, Chestnut Hill, The Main Line and many many more.
