2013 SW Festival Leave an Impression

Thank You! Your rating has been saved.

Regional Dance America is a national organization of nearly 90 ballet companies, admitted through a rigorous selection process. RDA is divided into five separate regions, the Northeast, the Southeast, the Mid-States, the Pacific, and the Southwest. The Southwest is comprised of pre-professional dance schools from Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, New Mexico, Colorado, and Texas.

Each spring, each of the regions holds an annual Festival, hosted each year by a different member company. The annual Festivals are three to four-day events consisting of master classes taught by world-renowned ballet, modern dance, and jazz teachers; auditions for various summer and college programs; and performances by member companies. These performances are selected and arranged by an impartial adjudicator who tours the region and observes each company in class and performance. This year, the Southwest Festival will be hosted by Western Arkansas Ballet in Fort Smith, Arkansas. In January and February, the adjudicator, Lyn Wiltshire, will tour the region, viewing each company and putting together the performance programs.

We are looking forward to showing you our warm Arkansas hospitality and hope to leave a great impression with all of you.

See you in April.
