Please complete entry form. Works may be shipped, hand-delivered, or digitally submitted to the museum. All work hand-delivered must be received on May 13-14 from 9 am-4 pm.
SIZE
- All work must be exactly 10 x 10 and unframed.
- 3-D work must be 10 x 10 x 10.
ELIGIBILITY
This Exhibition is open to all artists living/working in California (18 years of age or older). All mediums are welcome. Works must have been executed within three years of submission and pertain to the theme of "Lost But Not Forgotten."
ENTRY FEE
$35 for non-members, $25 for members.
ENTRIES
You may enter on-line, via regular mail, or hand-deliver. An official entry form (attached) and entry fee must accompany all work. Artists may submit up to three pieces. Incomplete entry forms and information sheets, and improperly marked CDs will be disqualified.

Work must be delivered by May 13 or May 14. All shipping, insurance, and packing materials are the sole responsibility of the artist and must be paid for/arranged by the artist. Artists are responsible for ALL return shipping fees. Fees may be prepaid through the shipping company, or paid with a check or money order made payable to: The Bakersfield Museum of Art. Work will not be returned without delivery confirmation or required signature. Please check with shipper for fee schedule. If you require insurance on your return shipping please provide the amount and additional postage to cover these expenses. When including return shipping labels and fees with artwork, please mark envelope clearly and place in a visible area for easy retrieval during unpacking.
DIGITAL ENRTY FORMAT
All digital entries must be submitted in JPEG format and on a CD or attached to an email sent to info@bmoa.org. The titles of the images on the CD must match the titles on the Official Entry Form.
PREPARING A DIGITAL ENTRY
- Make sure your camera is square with the work when you shoot, so the image is not skewed or distorted. A tripod is suggested. You may make adjustments, but only as needed to make the image look more true to your work.
- Crop the image. No mat, frame, or extraneous material should appear.
- Images must be in Jpeg format, resolution 300 dpi.
- Give the image a filename , as follows: Last name_first initial#1(or #2 or #3) to agree with sequence on the entry form)_abbreviated painting name. Example: Cruz_V#1_EarlySunMorn
- Images not meeting the requirements will be disqualified.
FRAMING AND MOUNTING
Work must be unframed. Drawings, photographs, and other works on paper must be mounted on canvas, wood, or board. All work must be ready to hang. Two-dimensional works must include secure hanging wire or D-rings. Three-dimensional works must include secure base or able to stand on their own.

EXHIBIT ARTWORK SALES
All work submitted must have the sale price printed on the application. All works must be for sale and may not exceed the price of $1,000. A 40% commission will be retained.
NOTIFICATIONS
Artists will be notified of their acceptance of one to three entries by e-mail or phone during the week of May 20 - May 24, 2013. If your entry is not accepted you will be notified by e-mail or mail and artwork will be returned as soon as possible.
EXHIBIT OPENING AND AWARD PRESENTATION
The Bakersfield Museum of Art opening reception for the 2013 Visual Arts Small Works Festival will be held at the Museum on June 27th, 2013. The award ceremony will begin at 6:30 pm.
