For over a quarter century, the Boulder Creek Festival® has been the unofficial kickoff to summer in Boulder. Widely considered Boulder County's favorite event, the Festival includes three days of festivities featuring a large variety of events, activities, food and entertainment unique to the Boulder community.

The Festival is free to the public and features something for everyone: 9 separate event areas with 500 vendors showcase everything from community arts and crafts to health alternatives and technology while 5 performance stages feature a spectrum of music and dance. The Festival also features carnival rides, food and beverage vendors, and the signature event: a rubber duck race down the creek! Special Features & Events

  • FRIDAY NIGHT KICK-OFF CONCERT: Boulder Creek Events starts the Festival weekend early by featuring a free concert at Twenty Ninth Street Mall! Stop by the kick-off concert on Friday night and enjoy entertainment, great food, Boulder Beer, margaritas, and plenty of free parking! Friday, May 24th • 6:00-9:00 p.m., Twenty Ninth Street Mall (near the corner of Canyon and 29th Street)
  • THE EXPAND DUCK RACE: The Festival's signature event! Thousands gather on Boulder Creek's shores to watch nearly 10,000 rubber ducks speed to the finish line. Proceeds benefit the Boulder Parks & Recreation EXPAND Program, which provides recreational & cultural opportunities for people with disabilities. Monday, May 27th • 4:00 p.m., on Boulder Creek.
  • FISHING DERBY: Kids 12 years old and younger can enjoy a morning of fishing at the Fishing Pond, hosted by the Boulder Fish & Game Club. Saturday, May 25th • 7:00-10:00 a.m. at 6th & Canyon.
  • SALUTE TO VETERANS PROGRAM: Sponsored by the Boulder Veterans Council and Boulder County Veterans Service, this program recognizes and remembers all Boulder-area veterans throughout history and serves as a tribute to those currently serving in the U.S. military. The program also features a special performance by the Boulder Concert Band. Saturday, May 25th • 10:00-11:30 a.m. After the conclusion of the program, be sure to visit the Boulder Creek Events-sponsored "Veterans Information booth", located off 13th Street in Central Park Commons.
  • GREEN ZONES: Boulder Creek Events is excited to announce our efforts to make the Boulder Creek Festival® a Zero Waste event! Within the Festival-including both food courts, the carnival, and sponsorship area-are dedicated "Green Zones" with all reusable, compostable, and recyclable materials, as well as Zero Waste stations. Help Boulder Creek Events continue the efforts to make Boulder a little greener! Special thanks to EverGreen Events and Re:Vision International for helping to make this possible.
