26th Annual FAME Festival

Come to the FAME Festival to celebrate the arts in March with National Youth Art Month and Music in Our Schools Month. This is the 26thth year of FAME. Be part of excitement with over 15,000 children and adults who will be performing and attending the Festival.

FAME is the largest single event at the Grand Wayne Center in downtown Fort Wayne.

FAME Cultural study this year: "FAME, Destination 2013: Southeast Asia." Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, East Timor, & The Philippines

On Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the Fort Wayne FAME Festival's Celebration of Youth Concert, the Fort Wayne Philharmonic performs the music that inspired the children's art pieces and a giant slideshow displays all 200 art pieces behind the playing musicians. The children and families are honored guests at the Fort Wayne FAME Festival's Celebration of Youth Concert.

FAME, the Foundation for Art and Music in Education, is a professional member organization of 202 and growing art, music, dance, drama teachers and principals throughout northern Indiana. FAME programs primarily serve elementary age children.

FAME members are dedicated to teaching multi-cultural arts to K-8 children in northern Indiana. Ongoing annual programs focus on a current world arts study and through the following programs FAME brings the study to the classroom: Visiting Artists, the Composition Project, Fusion of Concert Colors Concerts, FAME Summer Arts Camps, regional Festivals, Teacher Workshops, Culture Kits and The FAME Fabulous Flyer.

Annual FAME programs touch the lives of almost 150,000 school children and their families throughout the school year. Funding for our programs is provided by donations from arts advocates including schools, teachers, parents, business leaders, corporations, small businesses, civic agencies and philanthropic foundations.

The mission of FAME is to foster and perpetuate creativity through multicultural arts education (k-8). We believe in the value and power of the arts to kindle the imagination, encourage creative thinking and enhance human development.

Understand & appreciate cultures through experiences with indigenous art forms.
