Thank You! Your rating has been saved.

Brite Winter is Cleveland's Outdoor Winter Art & Music Festival

The 4th annual Brite Winter Festival will draw more than a thousand visitors out of their houses and hotels to enjoy musical performances, outdoor art and winter festival games.

Activities during this quirky event includes a 24-foot long skee-ball ramp (yes, that's more than double the average size), ski bike racing, snow mini golf, a massive electronic arcade crane and some of the most epic snowball fights visitors have ever seen. Located in the Market District in Ohio City, bringing warm-up opportunities and discounts at some of the area's best known bars and restaurants to festival goers.

At the heart of the festival is more than 20 performances by local, regional and national musical acts and a lighting competition sponsored by GE Lighting. Best of all? The festival is completely free.

There might be snow, there might be rain, it might be cold, it might be a blizzard, but it doesn't really matter. This is Cleveland, and we're going to play outside. Going on our fourth year, we've had more support than ever before, as our region has decided that waiting for summer to have fun is not an acceptable way to live. Sure, we'll have to work a little be harder for to get what we want... that's just like us too.

This year Brite Winter will feature more of the things we love: Music, Art and Outdoor Activities. As a community funded and organized event, all of our official programing is free and open to the public. Find out how you get involved by visiting our ‘Help Out' section or keep up with us on facebook and twitter as we make announcements about Bands, Games, Artists, and more Cleveland Winter Festivity.

Art + Games

There is art, and there are games, and then there's some stuff that is sort of both, but not really either.

We'll be updating information in the New Year (2013), but we are excited to reveal the awesomeness ahead.

Oh, and very special thanks to the Cleveland Institute of Art and the Cleveland Museum of Art Department of Community Arts

Vision

Our vision is to contribute to the Cleveland cultural landscape with a free/low cost, and accessible event in the winter time; an event where anyone can experience winter through traditional and innovative activities. Brite Winter marries fire, participatory art, food, music, and games to build community while helping us embrace the cold winter months.

Fitting into the rest of the Cleveland calendar, we see Brite Winter as the main downtown and around programming between New Year's Eve and St. Patrick's Day and a showcase for Northeastern Ohio's artists, musicians, and creative culture.

Additionally, we feel strongly that Brite Winter continues to engage younger Clevelanders, including graduate, professional, and undergraduate populations to contribute to the vitality of the city. The festival has the potential to become a national event, and as it grows we hope that the event maintains the young professional demographic as its core audience.
