4th Annual Montana Comedy Competition
"Live Comedy helps everyone forget their problems...or at least it helps us laugh at them." -Lukas
?In Nov. 2009 while in Hollywood Comedian Lukas Seely had an idea, he wanted to start an open mic stand-up scene in his hometown of Billings,Montana. The reason behind it was when Lukas started comedy in 2003 in Billings, MT there was no open mic or comedy clubs. He would have to put together his own shows 3 times a year with his buddies Chad Korb & Dan Paul Shafer or drive 8 hrs to Denver once a month to perform at their clubs.
?
After relocating to Los Angeles, CA, Lukas decided he wanted to give an opportunity to people in Montana to try stand-up comedy on a regular basis, an opportunity he never had. In Feb. 2010 with the help of his friend Wayne Wilcox, the first stand-up comedy open mic at Asian Nites Casino (now called Manny's) happened and was a success. He wanted to help aspiring comedians to grow as comedians and possibly take it to the next level.
?
Since then the comedy scene has grown, with 26 regular local comedians, over 70 different people giving it a try, 4 different open mic locations and every month a Q & A session with national headliners.
?
Also Lukas has booked national headliners to come to Billings to perform, he wanted to give local comedians an opportunity to open for big names and perform on a real show. As well as providing entertainment in Billings.
?
Such comedians to come to Billings include, Pauly Shore, Louie Anderson, Steve-O, Bobby Lee, Kyle Cease, Owen Benjamin, Auggie Smith, Chris Porter, Brian Scolaro, Bret Ernst, Al Jackson, Ty Barnett, Lisa Landry, Adam Ray, Amir K, Rob Little, Jeff Dye, Theo Von , Ben Glieb, Mo Mandel, Skyler Stone, Kevin Shea, Eliot Chang, and many more!
?
We hope you contunie to support live comedy and if you ever want to be a comedian.....come on by!
