The NBAI 5K is a nonprofit 501(c)3 event in recognition of March as Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. The 5K is designed to raise awareness that Colorectal Cancer is the number 3 cancer killer in the U.S., according to the American Cancer Society, and it may be preventable when caught early enough through a screening procedure. Participants will be able to speak with physicians from Dayton Gastroenterology about colon cancer screenings and visit a variety of health care vendors to obtain valuable healthy tips.
Net proceeds of the NBAI 5K Run/Walk provide screening colonoscopies for local residents who are uninsured and meet the economic hardship guidelines.
