April Olympia Art League Meeting
Please join us at the April 18 Olympia Art League meeting and watch pastel artist Peggy Jo Klumb do a live demonstration. Peggy is an accomplished artist who lives in Ocean Shores, Washington, and owns the Morning Mist Studio Peggy Jo spent most of her young life in California, lived in Montana for many years and moved to washingtonin 1977 with her 3 daughters. She has lived in Ocean Shores for the past 18 years. Art has been animportant part of her entire life. Her Mother was a respected artist in California and she was surroundedby these influences as a young child. She also was exposed to horses through her father's love of them,riding and competing way into her adult life. After raising her children and giving up her riding career, Peggy Jo began painting seriously about 19 years ago; pastels are her medium of choice these days also, sheworks in acrylics, creates Concrete Sculptures and paints on gourds..
The connection she feels for herchosen subjects is evident by the expressions of movement and moods. Once caught up in a painting, she canloose all sense of time. She loves walking the beaches she paints, feels the presence of people in theirenvironment and has an almost mystical sense of the horses and animals she loves. Her paintings have beenviewed frequently at numerous art exhibitions and fine art shows and can be found in many privatecollections. She works out of her Morning Mist Studio in Ocean Shores which is open by appointment.
