WORKSHOP TOPICS
Roxy Roxstar - "Roxstar's Patented Pepper-Up Power Potion"*
8:00AM-10:00AM
Early morning workshops can be a real pain in the keister, for even the most dedicated of students. The Pepper-Up Power Potion is designed to be fun, invigorating, and a little challenging...but mostly fun! Roxy will lead you through a "welcome to the world/wake the f*** up" warm-up, a few Pilates-based exercises to engage your core muscles, and lots of bellydance technique drills - ranging from easy to hella hard - to get you ready for your performance at Tribal at the Nile 2013! Please wear comfortable clothes and come ready to RAQ!
*Yes, this is a Harry Potter reference of sorts. Glad you got it!
About Roxy - Roxanne Goon (also known as Roxy Roxstar) is very grateful for having the opportunity to start bellydancing at an early age. She began her studies at age 5 in Midland, Texas, under the tutelage of Karen Sharma and her troupe Jewels of the Nile. Roxanne and her mother performed Egyptian style bellydance with the Jewels for 6 years, and when the troupe split up, they gave up dancing. Fast-forward five years to 2005, and Roxanne was back on the bellydance wagon, after having seen Rachel Brice perform with the Bellydance Superstars in Bakersfield, CA. She has been hooked on tribal fusion stylization ever since.
Roxanne is a proud member of Tribal Moon Rising of Bakersfield, as well as of the dance community at large. She hopes to continue her growth as a learner, performer and instructor for many years to come. For more info about Roxanne, visit her website (http://roxyroxstardance.webs.com), or find her on Facebook and Twitter(@RoxyGRoxstar)
