Cinemagic is pleased to announce that they have upgraded their digital projection equipment with the latest technology available. This upgrade allows for the presentation of the newest "film" format: High Frame Rate (HFR) and (HFR 3D).
Warner Brothers has selected Cinemagic in Westbrook, Maine (the only theater in Maine) and Cinemagic & IMAX®in Hooksett, New Hampshire to showcase their highly anticipated production of "The Hobbit: An unexpected Journey" the first film ever produced for distribution with the 48 frame per second format.
High Frame Rate: The current format used across the exhibition industry is 24 frames per second. High Frame Rate is the term being used to describe 48 frames per second. The frame rate is the number of images that are projected on the movie screen in one second. High Frame rate literally projects twice as many images per second on the screen. 48 frames per second is closer to what the human eye is capable of seeing.
