This is our first Mini Maker Faire celebrating our creative people and giving you the change to learn in a FUN way. Learn what YOU can MAKE! We will have hobby groups, crafters, performers and tech people all in one place.
This event if free to you thanks to our sponsorships form Suntrust Bank, Northeast State Community College and MAKE magazine.
About Maker Faire:
Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth-a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. It's a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning.
Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers. They are of all ages and backgrounds. The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow this community.
Come join us for our second Mini Maker Faire on Sunday July 14 from 1 pm - 6 pm. In 2012 we had 26 MAKERS! and attendance was over 500. This was the first time we have gathered our talented makers in one area. We had a very successful event and look forward to growing it this year. Come join us. Teach and learn. Are you a MAKER? The Kingsport Mini-Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. All of these "makers" come to Maker Faire to show what they have made and to share what they have learned.
On the practical side - we have indoor and outdoor spaces available.There is no registration fee for makers. This event happens within our 9 day community wide festival Fun Fest July 12-20
