NYC Vegetarian Food Festival 2013
The countdown has begun! Less than 30 days until vegans, vegetarians and the veg-curious from the all around Metro NYC area (and beyond!) descend upon the Metropolitan Pavilion and the NYC Vegetarian Food Festival! Being as this is one of the biggest all-vegetarian events of the year, there are a few key things to keep in mind to maximize your experience. Lucky that The Jersey City Vegan (aka ME!) is happy to fill you in on those little details!
Spring for the VIP Tickets! Even better, spring for the 2-Day VIP tickets. Why? Well first off, this gets you in the door without having to wait in the General Admission line. First major win! Secondly, you get ten free raffle tickets for the awesome all veg-themed raffle! Plus, you also get priority benefits to the speakers series. VIP tickets just provide for a nice and smooth ride, which I know for me is totally worth it.
Bring a backpack. Like one that actually goes on your back. Last year, I brought tote bags and found them to be cumbersome within the crowds and sample lines. You'll need a backpack because if you're like me, you're gonna want to purchase all the awesome vegan goodies that will be available. This year, I plan on bringing my nifty eco-friendly ChicoBag Travel Pack.
Hello!
This is Sarah Gross & Nira Paliwoda. We're the duo behind the New York City Vegetarian Food Festival. Almost 3 years ago, we created this plant-based extravaganza because, of all the awesome and progressive events that came out of NYC each year, there wasn't one that supported vegan businesses, environmental groups, and health and wellness purveyors in a way that was both educational and entertaining.
We took our combined passions and created an original mega-event that has something for everyone, not just vegetarians. Though it seemed a simple enough concept, the festival has been a true labor of love. The response we received to our 2011 and 2012 events has humbled us and has continued to fuel our drive.
We have especially enjoyed playing a part of the success of some of our vendors as many have launched at our event and continue to thrive. We have been most loving the stories from attendees that have made lifestyle changes because of what they learned at the Festival. Whether it's switching to an all plant-based diet or discovering their new favorite snack.
If just one person per year decides to make an animal-friendly, earth-friendly, health-friendly change in their life then we have furthered our goal of creating an event that isn't just fun for the moment but actually makes a difference. So we're ramping up again for 2013's Festival. Each year we aim to bring you more educators, entertainers, and delicious food of course! Thank you for your interest and ongoing support. It truly means the world.
