Public Planetarium Show
Come to the planetarium at the SUNY College at Oneonta for a free public show! The show will highlight the constellations, stars, and planets visible in the night sky, take you on a virtual trip to other planets and stars, and will conclude with a short movie on our modern Digistar projector system.
Due to limited seating in our planetarium, registration for the show is required and you must bring your ticket for entrance.
Public Observing Nights at SUNY Oneonta College Observatory
We host observing nights, which are open to the general public, approximately every month throughout the year. On these nights, our 40-inch telescope, 16-inch and 14-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes are opened for viewing, as well as a pair of giant binoculars for wide-angle viewing. Often, some of our astronomy students or members of the community will bring their telescopes as well, turning the event into a miniature star party.
Below is the current schedule for public events. Check back here regularly, as it is updated every few months.
