The Mayborn Planetarium and Space Theater will be open during spring break from March 13-15 with three matinee shows each day. Shows are scheduled for 12, 1 and 2 p.m. Matinee tickets are $4 per person, per show.

On Wednesday, March 13 the show schedule features "Secret of the Cardboard Rocket" at 12 p.m. The audience will climb aboard a magical cardboard rocket with two young adventurers and experience a breathtaking, up-close look at each of our solar system's planets with guidance from a wise astronomy book. The travelers land on Venus, Mars and Pluto, fly through the Great Red Spot on Jupiter and view the other planets and the sun from close vantage points as they tour the solar system.

At 1 p.m. "Astronaut" lets you experience a rocket launch from inside the body of an astronaut. Explore the amazing worlds of inner and outer space, from floating around the International Space Station to maneuvering through microscopic regions of the human body. Discover the perils that lurk in space as ‘Chad,' the show's test astronaut is subjected to everything space has to throw at him.

A new full-dome show, "Earthquake: Evidence of a Restless Past," is at 2 p.m. This breathtaking tour through space and time makes you look at Earth in a whole new way. Fly along the San Andreas Fault before diving into the planet's interior, travel back in time to witness the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and the break-up of Pangaea 200 million years ago. Visit the sites of historical earthquakes from the Mediterranean Sea to the Pacific Ocean and learn how scientists and engineers collaborate to build a safer environment.

On Thursday, the show schedule starts at 12 p.m. with "The Little Star That Could." This is the story of an average yellow star in search for planets of its own to protect and warm. Along the way, our little star meets other stars, learns what makes each star special and discovers how stars combine to form star clusters and galaxies. Eventually, the Little Star finds its planets. Each planet is introduced with basic information about our solar system. This fun show helps us all to feel special, just like this average little star.

"Zula Patrol: Under The Weather" is at 1 p.m. Based on the award-winning television program, the show follows the Zula Patrol gang on an expedition collecting samples of weather for scientist Multo's research using their loyal pet Gorga's ability to collect and bottle all kinds of weather. Interplanetary villain Dark Truder tricks Gorga into stealing the weather from other planets as part of his latest scheme to rule the universe. The gang set out to rescue Gorga and bring him home. In the process they learn all about weather, both terrestrial and interplanetary.

The show is followed by "Earthquake: Evidence of a Restless Past" at 2 p.m.

On Friday, the matinees open with "Secret of the Cardboard Rocket" at 12 p.m. followed by "Astronaut" at 1 p.m. and "Earthquake: Evidence of a Restless Past" at 2 p.m.
