St Patrick's Day Parade

The community of Holland, well known for its Dutch ancestry, goes Irish for the seventh year in a row as organizers commemorate St. Patrick with the annual St. Patrick's Day Celebration in Downtown Holland! The event will kick off with a spectacular St. Patrick's Day Parade at 12:00 pm.

Irish dancers, bagpipers, and kilt-wearers are just a few of the parade highlights! Families and individuals wearing green are invited to carry Irish flags in the parade (a limited number of flags will be available at no charge).

The parade begins at the Eight Street Marketplace and travels east down Eighth Street until it reaches the Curragh Irish Pub and New Holland Brewing Company Restaurant and Pub (on the corner on Eighth Street and College Avenue).

For the sixth year in a row organizers will commemorate St. Patrick with the annual St. Patrick's Day Celebration in Downtown Holland. The event will kick off with a spectacular St. Patrick's Day parade on Saturday, March 12 at noon.

Holland's own Curragh Irish Pub along with New Holland Brewing Company have announced that the Sixth St. Patrick's Day Parade is underway once again. The parade will take place on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at noon. The parade will begin at the Eighth Street Market Place at 8th Street and Pine and travel east down 8th Street to the corner of 8th Street and College Avenue. Area businesses, organizations, and residents are encouraged to participate in this annual St. Patrick's Day Parade by joining in and decorating a company vehicle, a family car, or themselves in celebration of the luck of the Irish.

Families and individuals wearing green are invited to participate in the parade and carry Irish flags. A limited number of flags will be available at no charge. All other parade participants must be registered. The number of entries is limited.

The highlight of the parade will be the appearance of the Grand Marshal, Mayor Kurt Dykstra and family along with Holland's Official St. Patrick, R.T. Williams and Irish dancers, bagpipers and kilt-wearers.

The parade has partnered with Community Action House (CAH) to help fill their food pantry. Parade participants and viewers are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated. Collection areas will be provided.
