Spark engages people in the wonder and relevance of science. We focus on scientific literacy, workforce development, and community engagement.
The National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) sits nestled against Boulder, Colorado's famous Flatirons and the foothills to the Rocky Mountains. NCAR welcomes the public seven days a week to its Visitor Center, which offers exhibits, guided tours, and audiotours.
About our Community science projects
Community science projects are ways for diverse communities to engage in relevant weather, climate and air quality research and education. Collaboration between community members and the geoscience research community, facilitated by Spark, UCAR Science Education, allows development of science research projects that are in service to society.
