TEDxGreenville: By Design

"Isn't it cool when you watch a TED talk and you get your own Idea Worth Spreading," saysTEDxGreenville 2013 curator Despina Yeargin. This is exactly what happened to her and how the TEDxGreenville team came to decide on By Design as the theme for the 2013 event.

By Design, refers to our ability to build our own future, our community and even our own life. "While many times circumstances which we encounter are beyond our control, we all have the power to influence-even to design-our experiences," says Yeargin. "We have the power to do that, just by moving forward with intention, and that's what the theme is all about-intention. In other words, we move forward in a thoughtful way and we walk through our future with purpose, not just letting things happen."

Join us on March 22 as we continue the tradition of creating ideas worth spreading.

This independent TEDx event is operated under license from TED

It truly takes a village to put on the TEDxGreenville conference and salons. Here are just of few of that village who make the TEDxGreenville conference work so seamlessly and flawlessly. Isn't it amazing just how many people work their volunteer magic for this event!

WHAT IS TEDX?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxGreenville, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxGreenville event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
