The 21st Annual Conference on Men and Masculinities sponsored by the American Men's Studies Association will take place in Ann Arbor, Michigan at the University of Michigan April 4-7, 2013.
The Conference theme is "Multiple Masculinities and Intersecting Identities."

The registration fee includes breakfast each morning, lunch and dinner on Friday, and light snacks.

Aside from the hotels listed above with whom we have reserved blocks of rooms for the conference, there are three smaller hotels on campus very near the conference venue (within a couple of blocks). They have limited capacity, and we HAVE NOT reserved a block of guest rooms at either, but if you're interested in staying very close to the conference you may want to check for availability:

    Ann Arbor is located in North America's Eastern Time Zone with Daylight Saving Time beginning on Sunday, March 10, 2013. The average temperatures for the beginning of April are: high 53° (12°C), low 33° (1°C).

  • Airport Transportation
    Ann Arbor is about 25 miles (30 minutes) west on Interstate 94 using the US 23N exit. There are multiple taxi, limo and shuttle services to and from the airport. The companies listed below have one-way fares ranging from $55-$65 non-inclusive of gratuity.

    • Across Town Cab: 734-216-5932 - this is a van. Good for multiple passengers. Approximately $55-$65 one-way. Can be split among several passengers.
    • Metro Car: 800-456-1701 - Approximately $55-$65 one-way, non-inclusive of gratuity.

    • Yellow Cab/Select Ride: 734-663-3355 - Yellow Cab also offers a shared shuttle for half the price. Please allow a half-hour window of when it will arrive for pick up.

    Also, a much less expensive airport transportation option is AirRide - $12 one way. HOWEVER, please realize that the closest drop-off location is near the Michigan League which is a couple of blocks away from the School of Social Work. If you choose this option, please plan to wear comfortable walking shoes.

    Amtrak serves Ann Arbor daily via its "Wolverine Service" between Chicago and Pontiac via Detroit. Passengers arrive at Ann Arbor's Amtrak Station located downtown at 325 Depot Street.
