The Days of ’47 KSL 5 Parade

Thank You! Your rating has been saved.

Colorful floats, bands, horses, clowns and other entries thrill thousands of spectators each year. Many families camp out on the streets the night before to ensure a great seat to catch it all the following morning. The Parade starts at State Street and South Temple.

We encourage you to join us for a wonderful morning of excitement and colorful entries in our much-loved Parade.

Remember that businesses are in operation and residents live all along the Parade route. Please respect their property! Let them get some sleep if you're camping overnight nearby and be sure to pick up trash and remove all your camping gear (like that sofa or mattress that is headed to the dump!) on Wednesday morning before you leave the area.

Here's another grand idea for you! After the Parade, mosey on over to the EnergySolutions Arena where our Rodeo will be getting underway. This is a return of the decades-old tradition of the Rodeo and Parade in downtown Salt Lake. Don't miss our bronco-bustin' action!

We have exciting things planned for the 2013 version of The Days of '47 celebration, from the Royalty Pageant and Parade, to the Rodeo and all the other colorful events. Our 2013 celebration will be full of thrills and spills. Schedule your summer plans to take advantage of our many activities - most of which are free to the public. Grab your hat, pull on those boots and c'mon down!

Days of '47 Rodeo

As we have done for generations, The Days of '47 Rodeo will bring you plenty of bucking broncos, fiesty cowboys and racing cowgirls beginning on July 19th through the 24th (except Sunday). Did you hear - we're schedule a few bands, there are great new acts and this will be the best year yet at the Rodeo! Listen to Dick Nourse introduce our Rodeo here and watch the fast action.

Dick Nourse Introduces the Rodeo

The Days of '47 KSL 5 Parade will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, in downtown Salt Lake City beginning at 9:00 am. For a new adventure, bring the kids, the sleeping bags and the hot dogs downtown on the evening of the 23rd. You can camp out on Salt Lake City streets along the route that evening. This is the biggest sleepover your family and friends will ever experience! Remember to bring enough water to keep everyone hydrated.
