The Street Art Fair

Thank You! Your rating has been saved.

Somewhere between loads of laundry and running kids to baseball practice, Julie picked up a paintbrush. A local art buyer saw her work and began commissioning pieces for her clients. Since then, Julie has been creating award-winning artwork that can be seen in private and corporate collections across the country. Her mixed-media paintings include bits of her children's artwork, vintage fabrics, old photos, and other things she has collected over the years. She has long been influenced by the colorful, happy artwork children create.

Julie has a BS in Elementary Education from the University of Cincinnati. She taught first grade and worked at the Children's Defense Fund in Washington, DC, before becoming a stay-at-home mom of four children. She is now happily painting from her laundry room studio in Dayton, Ohio.

Together, the fairs attract over 500,000 attendees from across the nation. The Original Fair was named the Number One Art Fair in the country by AmericanStyle magazine readers survey (October 2004) and has made the Top Ten Fairs and Festivals list every year since.

Our mission is to increase public knowledge and appreciation for contemporary fine arts and fine crafts by creating opportunities that connect artists, the Ann Arbor community and the general public to their mutual benefit, culminating in a top quality juried street art fair.

The Street Art Fair is set on North University Avenue and on the University of Michigan's Central Campus, amidst elegant architecture and beautifully landscaped pedestrian walkways, including the landmark Burton Carillon Tower.
