Welcome to the Annual Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival
The Greater Augusta Arts Council will hold the 33rd annual Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival September 20 - 22, 2013, in historic downtown Augusta, GA. Festivities take place on Broad Street between 8th and 10th Streets, which will be closed to traffic during the festival.
The Greater Augusta Arts Council is seeking proposals from artists for the design and execution plan of an outdoor art installation. This free-standing work will be made from found objects and must be suitable for outdoors, and temporary in nature. The purpose of this installation is to create a positive message celebrating the dignity of all people regardless of their circumstance. The work will begin in June and will be completed by June 17, 2013 in conjunction with the Arts Council's presentation of 14 Stations, the photographic work of artist, David Michalek.
The North Augusta SpringFest will be a multi-week festival of arts, horticulture, and sports, which replaces the Yellow Jessamine Festival. Various exhibits and events will take place in different venues in North Augusta, South Carolina. The Art Show is sponsored by the City of North Augusta in partnership with the North Augusta Cultural Arts Council. The theme for this year's art competition is the Camellia Flower. The Artist Reception and Award Ceremony will kick off the opening of the North Augusta SpringFest on Friday, March 8, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Arts and Heritage Center,100 Georgia Avenue, in the North Augusta Municipal Center. Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery announces an art call for the gallery's 3rd Annual "Nature" Juried Art Competition for the month of February 2013. The gallery invites all 2D artists (including photography) from around the world are called upon to make online submissions for inclusion in to the Gallery's March 2013 online group art exhibition. "Nature" is considered to be anything that was not created by or has been substantially altered by man. Subjects that would encompass "Nature" would include geographical matter, natural objects, wildlife and natural environments.

The 2013 Public Art Exhibition on Hilton Head Island, DISCOVER, seeks proposals for sculpture engaged in a contemporary conversation about art within a natural environment. The theme is intended to inspire submissions that foster discovery, exploration, interaction, recreation, education and an element of surprise within the beauty of the Lowcountry region.
The year 2013 will mark the 350th anniversary of William Hilton discovering what became known as Hilton Head Island.
Up to twenty large-scale outdoor sculptures will be selected by an esteemed jury based upon artistic excellence, innovation, interactivity, originality, and the work's ability to enhance the natural and cultural environment as well as reflect the values and diversity of Hilton Head Island.
Juried artists will receive $2,000 participation stipend. One sculpture will be purchased at a price of up to $75,000. Three additional artists will be selected to receive "People's Choice" awards with cash prizes. To apply and learn more about the Exhibition, please visit HHIpublicart.org.
ORTH CHARLESTON, SC - Sculpture artists from across the nation are invited to participate in the eighth annual National Outdoor Sculpture Competition & Exhibition. Up to 15 sculptures will be juried into the exhibit and compete for cash prizes totaling up to $17,250. The exhibition is presented as a component of the annual North Charleston Arts Festival, to be held May 3-11, 2013. The National Outdoor Sculpture Competition & Exhibition will be on display May 1, 2013, through March 23, 2014, at North Charleston Riverfront Park, located at 1001 Everglades Avenue in North Charleston.
