2013 Columbus Arts Festival
The 2013 Columbus Arts Festival presented by Time Warner Cable will take place at the downtown Riverfront on June 7, 8 & 9. The Riverfront will be transformed into a stunning outdoor art gallery as the nation's top artists display their work and attract art enthusiasts from all over the country. In addition to hosting more than 230 nationally acclaimed artists, the Festival will feature fantastic gourmet fare from some of the city's finest local restaurants, live music, hands-on art activities and more-there's something for everyone!
From its humble beginning as a "Festival of the Arts" on the Statehouse lawn more than half a century ago, the Columbus Arts Festival has grown into one of the most highly acclaimed arts festivals in the nation. Early festivals focused on "a program in cultural achievements" by students of the Columbus City Schools and local colleges, but today the Columbus Arts Festival has evolved into an extravaganza of art and culture.
The familiar ambiance of the downtown Riverfront has been greatly enhanced by the newly revitalized parks known as the Scioto Mile, Bicentennial Park and two brand new bridges at Main and Rich Streets. Scioto Mile Park along the river features lush green spaces, a charming promenade and mesmerizing water features along with plazas, paths and bike ways.
The 2013 Festival will continue its emphasis on our local community-through partnerships with local businesses, organizations and featuring local artists, musicians and great food. Check out our Emerging Artists featuring upcoming local artists and the Hands On Art Activities area for kids of all ages. Get a taste of some of Columbus' finest restaurants at the Dine Originals at the Festival tents. And, of course, quench your thirst at our many beverage stations featuring Heineken, Dos Equis and other fine beers, Yellowtail wines and Jose Cuervo Margaritas.
